I’ve learned to spin yarn!

19th June 2012 By stephanie

I made some new friends on Ravelry in a spinning group, and one of them came over for tea yesterday and showed me how to spin on a top-whorl drop spindle. She even let me borrow one of hers so I can play with it! I’ve spun up almost all of my fiber that I bought a while back, and for the spinners’ meetup on July 3rd, I will have to buy more. Haven’t got a uniform consistency down yet, or decided what consistency I like best. I just know I am so totally hooked!

Emma’s response: “Eeeexcellent.” <mrburns> (She’s also offered to give me a lift to the meetup, as it’s too far to scooter, and I can’t drive. Hurray! I shall practice human interaction and social comportment!)

Here is my first-ever handspun yarn: Corriedale “Cheesecake”.
